2020-2021 BMSB Season Update for Australia

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Water Resources and Environment (DAWE) has provided updates for the 2020-2021 BMSB (brown-marmorated-stink-bugs) season. Any target high-risk goods shipped from a target risk country between September 1, 2020 and April 20, 2021 need to be treated and will be referred for intervention if it arrives by May 31, 2021 (inclusive).

We highly recommend that if your goods fall under the target high-risk group and come from a target risk country to get your goods fumigated at origin to avoid delays and extra costs upon arrival.

As in previous seasons, our USA to Australia FAKs will be treated by an approved treatment provider at the origin.

More details on the upcoming BMSB season can be found on the following home page:

https://www.agriculture.gov.au/import/before/brown-marmorated-stink-bugs

The charge for fumigation of LCL shipments is: USD $30.00 w/m, Minimum of $100.00

Please contact your local DGX office for rates for the fumigation of FCL containers.

The New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is updating a new version of the Import Health Standard for Vehicles, Machinery, and Parts for shipping of these goods to New Zealand from target risk countries during the 2020-2021 BMSB (Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs) season. Any targeted goods shipped from a target risk country between September 1, 2020 and April 20, 2021 need to be treated and will be referred for intervention if it arrives by May 31, 2021 (inclusive).
