DHX – Dependable Hawaiian Express Island Operations

Our terminals are open. We are estimating a one business day delay for our Honolulu deliveries coming off of the Kaimana Hila 018W. Our Honolulu trucking operations will do everything in their power to expedite the handling of your shipments and to minimize the delay as much as possible. It is anticipated Neighbor Island barge schedule changes will have no impact on our Neighbor Island deliveries.

Interisland

We have also been informed by Young Brothers (“YB”), Hawaii’s interisland barge service, of the below updates:

  • As a reminder, all of YB’s ports will be closed and all sailings out of Honolulu to the ports of Kawaihae, Kahului, and Nawiliwili have been cancelled for Monday, July 27.

  • Currently all tugs and barges are out at sea in a safe zone and will slowly transit back to the port of Honolulu while maintaining a safe distance from the effects of Hurricane Douglas.

  • The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and United States Coast Guard will be evaluating port infrastructures to determine the reopening of the waterways and harbor facilities. Once these government agencies give the “All Clear” signal, the tugs and barges will be allowed back into the ports.

  • YB will make every effort to service the ports that have had their sailings cancelled due to Hurricane Douglas. At this time, the sailing schedule for all ports are being evaluated, with this week’s sailings impacted with both sailing schedule and cargo acceptance modifications over the next two weeks as they expedite critical cargo to the neighbor islands and reset their rotation.
