General Rate Increase Into Australia and New Zealand Effective September 30, 2019

As a result of Ocean Carrier Increases, DGX is implementing a General Rate Increase as detailed below:

Australia Stink Bug Fumigation Season Update

The Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR) has announced the seasonal measures for the 2019-2020 Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) Fumigation season, which is set to begin on September 1, 2019 and continue through May 31, 2020. Breakbulk, Full Container Load (FCL) containers and Freight of All Kinds (FAK) shipments from high risk countries, including the USA, containing target high risk risk commodities are required to be fumigated.

With the aim of maintaining transit time integrity and minimizing financial impact, DGX will treat cargo sailing from the USA to Australia at a DAWR approved treatment facility in Los Angeles.

 

New Zealand Stink Bug Fumigation Season Update

On the 22nd of July 2019, the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) released new versions of the Import Health Standard for Vehicles, Machinery and Parts for the importation of these goods to New Zealand from the USA during the risk season (September to April) from BMSB (Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs). 

We will work with all agents, shippers and consignees with the high-risk commodities (Vehicles, Machinery and Parts) on a case-by-case basis and provide the necessary fumigation requirements.

Fumigation requirements will begin with any vessel leaving on or after September 1, 2019.

For both Australia and New Zealand, the charges for fumigation of LCL shipments are:  USD $30.00 w/m, Minimum $100.00
