Low Sulfur Fuel Surcharge

 

On January 1, 2020, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will impose new emissions standards aimed at significantly decreasing pollution produced by ships all over the globe.  The marine sector will have to reduce sulfur emissions by over 80% by switching to lower sulfur fuels.

 

As the Ocean Carriers face higher costs meeting compliance with the new regulations, they are beginning to implement low sulfur fuel surcharges. 

 

As previously notified, DGX will implement a new surcharge to recover these costs as detailed below:

All US Origins	All Latin America Destinations	IMO2020	$4.00 W/M - $4.00 min	12/1/19
All US origins	Oceania	IMO2020	$4.00 W/M - $4.00 min	12/13/19
All US origins	Asia	IMO2020	$2.00 W/M - $2.00 min	12/13/19

 

 

Any mitigation and/or delays of the increase will be passed along (as applicable).
