Terminal Handling Charge – Guam and CNMI

Matson Navigation Company (Matson) announced in April 2017 that the Guam Public Utilities Commission (PUC) approved the Port of Guam’s request for increases in tariffs, rates, and fees over a five-year period.  The PUC approved increases of 7% in years one and two, and a 1% for years three through five.  Year one increases occurred in May 2017. Year two increases are to become effective on January 1, 2018.

The Port of Guam’s  approved plans are posted online for your review at:
http://www.portguam.com/sites/default/files/5-year_tariff_increase_pag_docket_17-01_04282017.pdf

Pursuant to Port of Guam’s second increase and in keeping with our longstanding practice of giving customers 30 days’ notice before rate increases, we will increase our rates for Guam shipments January 1, 2018 and CNMI shipments, February 1, 2018 respectively

Because of this increase in our underlying costs, we are changing the terminal handling charged to you to reflect this adjustment. THC will increase by $0.04 per cubic foot effective with sailings on or after January 1, 2018. By doing this, we are able to maintain our service levels as well as the financial stability you would expect and want from your service provider. We apologize for any inconvenience this change will cause you.

Should you have additional questions or scheduling concerns, please contact your local office or contact our DHX Customer Service Center at 800-488-4888, Ext. 2020, DGX at 888-488-4888 or at 310-669-8888.
