New Computer System

As part of our commitment to providing superior quality services and value, we are pleased to announce that we will upgrade our computer system effective October 1. The new system will help us to improve our customer service to you, in addition to increasing the speed in which information becomes available.

It is our goal to improve our communications through electronic notifications. We also plan to methodically increase your ability to use online tools the system has available over a 3-4 month period. This will make it EASY for you as Customers to do business with us by creating a more timely and transparent environment in which we do business together.

We wanted you to be aware of the changes and ask for your understanding while we transition to our new system.

Should you have questions or concerns, please email us at SystemInfo@DGXGlobal.com or call us Toll Free at (888) 488-4888 or call your local office.

Puerto Rico

As you are probably aware, Hurricane Maria made direct landfall on Puerto Rico on Wednesday, September 20. The hurricane was a powerful Category 4 hurricane with 150 mile per hour winds. The damage was catastrophic for Puerto Rico, and as of today, there is still no power on the island, except for what is being powered by generators. In many places, there is no water, with limited food, shelter, fuel, and cell phone or other communication services.

The Port of San Juan is open and only allowing importation of items that support the recovery process. This means that "non-relief" cargo will be held on the mainland, most likely in Jacksonville, FL until such time it can be shipped. We will continue to issue bookings for less than container load (LCL) and full container load (FCL) cargo as long as equipment remains available. Please note there could be substantial delays with the ultimate delivery of any such cargo.

Commercial airfreight is currently embargoed at least for another 2 weeks. Currently most air cargo operators are involved in humanitarian supply 'charter' uplifts for the next couple weeks as well.

Terminal Handling Charge –Hawaii to Guam

As previously announced in January 2017, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Harbors Division’s next wharfage increase of 15% takes effect on October 1, 2017. Part of the State’s financing plan for its multi-year harbors modernization program, a third increase of 15% is also scheduled for an effective date of July 1, 2018.

Because of this increase in our underlying costs, we are changing our Hawaii to Guam terminal handling charges to reflect this adjustment. THC will increase by $0.04 per cubic foot effective with sailings on or after October 1, 2017. By doing this, we are able to maintain our service levels as well as the financial stability you would expect and want from your service provider. We apologize for any inconvenience this change will cause you.

Should you have additional questions or scheduling concerns, please contact your local office or contact our DHX Customer Service Center at 800-488-4888, Ext. 2020, DGX at 888-488-4888 or at 310-669-8888.
