Effective November 22, 2015, the VSA members will service Brisbane from the West Coast U.S.A. via Tauranga or Melbourne, extending the transit time to 27-30 days.   The transhipment service via Auckland has been omitted due to a decrease in volumes. The cut-off and sailing schedule for Brisbane will remain the same and can be accessed online at www.dgxglobal.com at the Sailing Schedule link.

IMO & DG Requirement - Malaysian Ports and Port of Ningbo, China

The following requirements are in effect for the Malaysian Ports:

The Strategic Trade Act and Joho Port Authority Act (JPA) in Malaysia, which has been effective since April 2011, provides control over the transportation of items, including arms and related material, and other activities that will or may facilitate the design, development and production of WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) and their delivery systems. Along with the JPA, these laws require the declaration and permit application/ acceptance for most DG cargo when calling Malaysian ports, with all IMO containers requiring special permit obtained from the Port Police to allow for discharge and further transhipment.

As a result, we will require the following for IMO and DG bookings involving a port call in Malaysian ports as follows:

All DG bookings calling Malaysian ports, including transhipment or transit, will require a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) which must be submitted with your Dangerous Goods documentation at the time of booking

All IMO Class 1 cargo transiting via a Malaysian port will require both an MSDS and End-User Certificate/Statement (EUS) which must be submitted with your Dangerous Goods documentation at the time of booking

No cargo classified as IMO 1&7 will be accepted if it requires a transhipment or discharge in a Malaysian port.

Please note that failure in submitting a required MSDS and/or EUS with your shipment may result in booking cancellation or detention of cargo in Malaysia and may include additional charges to the shipper/payor.

The following requirement is in effect for the Ningbo, China Port:

Similar to the above, the Ningbo Maritime Safety Administration set a new rule with immediate effect that requires:

All DG bookings calling port of Ningbo, China, including transhipment or transit, will require a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) which must be submitted with your Dangerous Goods documentation at the time of booking.

Should you have additional questions, please contact your local representative or call our Corporate office at 1-310-669-8888 (local USA) or 1-888-488-4888 (toll-free).

We want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a very happy, healthy and safe Holiday Season.

Thank you for your business - we appreciate it!

Sincerely,

Brad Dechter
