Dear Valued Customer:

We have been informed by Young Brothers, Hawaii’s interisland transportation company that on February 27, 2019, the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission (“PUC”) issued final approval to Young Brothers for their new freight rates. These rates were agreed upon with the Consumer Advocate, and approved by the PUC in February. This is Young Brothers’ first significant rate increase in six years. The increase will enable their company to more closely keep pace with increasing costs and to reinvest in the business after necessary capital expenses. It also allows Young Brothers greater financial stability in the face of steadily increasing operational costs.

The interisland rates will be increased by 4.3% and effective for sailings on and after March 7, 2019.
