Breaking Alert
9/11/2018
Dear Valued Customer:
Hawaii
According to the USCG (United States Coast Guard) and the National Weather Service, Hurricane Olivia is expected to be moving over the main Hawaiian Islands Tuesday night, September 11, into Wednesday September 12.
The USCG has issued a closure of the below ports due to Hurricane Olivia.
Honolulu | Port will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday September 11 and 12,2018 |
Kona | Port will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday September 11 and 12,2018 |
Hilo | Port will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday September 11 and 12,2018 |
Maui | Port will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday September 11 and 12,2018 |
Kauai | Port will close Tuesday 9/11/18 – 10am HST |
The ports will remain closed until the “all clear” is given by the USCG.
Our Honolulu terminal will be in operation on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 to deliver as much cargo as possible, while still able to operate safely.
As the path of Hurricane Olivia develops its movement over the Hawaiian Islands, we will send more updates for service issues impacting our Inter-Island Ocean and Air service, as well as our Ocean and Air forwarding services to each Island from all origins.
Guam
The storm has passed through Guam, causing a lot of flooding, road closures and widespread power outages. The terminal will be open for business as usual today, except that we have no internet, so communication will be limited.
The vessel, Maunawili 165W, is now estimated to arrive Thursday September, 13, 2018. This could change -the Port Authorities make operational decisions based on a variety of factors impacting the port.
It appears that because of the storm there will be no deliveries made the rest of this week on Guam.
