Dear Valued Customer,

 

The below advisory was received from Matson Navigation Company (Matson) this morning. If there turns out to be a work stoppage, flow of product and goods to the Islands will slow down due to a lack of capacity. We certainly do not foresee that happening, based on previous experiences in prior years, but wanted you to be aware.

 

From Matson:

Further to our advisory of June 19, Matson is currently negotiating new labor contracts with unions representing unlicensed crew on our ships serving Hawaii and Guam in Matson domestic trades.  The current contracts with these groups expire June 30. 

Negotiations are ongoing and, as always, Matson’s objective is to reach timely, fair, and equitable agreements.  Matson remains cautiously optimistic about reaching such an agreement before the contract expiration.
