Breaking Alert

Dear
Valued Customer:
The
following announcement by Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) is provided for
your review:
Subject: Matsonia 548WArrival in Honolulu Delayed Due
to Mechanical Problem
The S.S. Matsonia 548W, sailing from Oakland, encountered a
mechanical problem yesterday and lost power while en route to Honolulu. The vessel is currently 480 nautical miles
from Honolulu. While the crew has been
working diligently to repair the problem, work so far has been unsuccessful. The ship was scheduled to arrive in Honolulu
this morning.
As of now, we do not
have any definitive information that would allow us to provide a revised
arrival time. If repair work can’t
rectify the situation at sea, the vessel may need to be towed to Honolulu,
which would result in a delay of 5 to 6 days.
As a proactive measure, a tug has already been dispatched to assist the
ship should towing be necessary.
In addition to the
delay, refrigerated shipments have been without power since yesterday
morning. We are contacting customers
impacted by this issue directly and regret the loss of this cargo as a result
of this incident.
We
will continue to provide you with updates as more information becomes
available. Our apologies to our Customers shipping out of Oakland for the inconvenience
they will experience because of this delay.
Should
you have any questions, please contact your local sales or customer service
representative, or call us at (800) 488-4888.
Thank
you in advance for your understanding in this matter.
