Closing of Indonesia Office

Our Indonesia office, which was opened for very specific reasons, has fulfilled its role and purpose, and is in the process of closing down. We are not accepting new business and will shortly be closing our doors in Jakarta for the near term. All business going forward will be handled through a DGX agent partner in Indonesia.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Outbound Proof-of-Concept Program

We have previously announced our partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and of our participation in their Outbound Proof-of-Concept program. In October 2014 we were selected by CBP, one of three participants nationwide, to begin working with them on a 90-day pilot program to improve the risk assessment and security of cargo exporting from the U.S.A.

This program has allowed the audit and review of goods that were being exported from the U.S.A. to be conducted prior to the shipment being loaded in a container, at our dock, as opposed to at the Ports. We have been working with CBP on reporting the receipt of shipments and coordinating the inspection and exam of selected shipments, prior to the shipment loading, with the goal in mind to support CBP and eliminate expensive container inspections, while having it be invisible to our Customers.

CBP is asking we provide the information shown below as soon as it is possible, preferably at the booking stage, but no later than receipt of cargo at our dock.

Since our participation in this program, we’ve been able to decrease the number of exams at the Port, which means no delay as a result of cargo inspections and less exam costs to be absorbed by our Customers. We are also improving the ability to assign risk and security of the cargo handling by having the inspection under our control, in our warehouse, with the support of CBP Outbound team.

We hope that you will join us in the effort to improve the nature and manner of Customs exams, and we’re looking forward to the continued improvements to come.
