DGX - Breaking Alert

11/12/2023

BREAKING ALERT

Dear Valued Customer,

DGX-Dependable Global Express has been informed by DP World that Australia's Port Operator was hit by a Cyberattack late Friday night. As a result, the operator had to shut down the four ports: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Fremantle. The restrictions imposed by DP World caused ships to be unable to unload freight, and freight was also barred from leaving the port site.

The federal government is helping to coordinate the stevedore's response, and the Australian Cyber Security Centre is providing technical advice. The incident is likely to disrupt the movement of goods for days.

On Monday morning in Australia, DP World started to recommence operations gradually. DGX will work with the shipping lines and transport companies on which vessels and shipments have been affected.

We will continue to keep you updated with any new developments. At this time, we are also still aware that the road closure and work stoppages by the union as part of the strikes are still going ahead.

Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to assist. We will also work with the lines on extensions for any detention and await updates on the demurrage situation.

Should you have any questions, please contact your local DGX office or representative, or call us at 888-488-4888 or at 310-669-8888.

Thank you for your business – we appreciate it!
