Seasonal Measures for Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) 2023-2024
Australia Stink Bug Fumigation Season
The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF) has announced the seasonal measures for the upcoming 2023-2024 Brown Marmorated Stink Bug season, which is set to begin on September 1, 2023, and will end on April 30th, 2024 (inclusive).
Breakbulk cargo, Full Container Load (FCL) containers, and Freight of All Kinds (FAK) shipments from high-risk countries, including the USA, containing target high-risk commodities, are required to be fumigated for Australia.
Note: The shipped-on-board date, as indicated on the Ocean Bill of Lading, is the date used to determine when goods have been shipped. “Gate in” dates and times will not be accepted to determine when goods are shipped.
With the aim of maintaining transit time integrity and minimizing financial impact, DGX will treat cargo sailing from the USA to Australia at an approved treatment facility in Los Angeles.
The LCL fumigation charges for this season will be USD 30.00 per w/m with a minimum of USD 150.00.

New Zealand Stink Bug Fumigation Season
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has proposed the BMSB seasonal measures will apply to target vehicles, machinery, and parts exported from risk countries (which includes the USA) on September 1, 2023, and will end on April 30th, 2024 (inclusive).
DGX will not be treating our consolidation containers from the USA to New Zealand.
A Manufacturer’s Declaration template for all applicable vehicles, machinery, and parts exported to New Zealand will be required from the US to determine if fumigation is required or if the cargo is exempt.
If your shipment requires fumigation, it will be sent to an approved treatment facility in Los Angeles.
The LCL fumigation charges for this season will be USD 30.00 per w/m with a minimum of USD 150.00.
